Cuckoo Song - Abby Yandell

“Cuckoo Song” has a confusing yet mysterious plot. The book starts at a holiday home with the main family, the Father, The Mother, Triss and her little sister Pen. Triss wakes in a bed feeling ill and cold with leaves tangled in her hair, her whole family are worried and her sister seems to hate her. Triss doesn't seem herself.

Once the family return home Triss starts to realise that she isn't just ill, she is always hungry, she wakes up with leaves in her hair and mud everywhere, and she starts to worry. She also notices dolls and figurines start to move. One day she tries to face her “moving doll” fear and when the pin-cushion doll starts to stab at her finger, Triss eats it! Later on in the book Triss discovers that she isn't the real Triss and that she is a horrible monster. All that's left for not Triss to do is find out what she is and why she's here. Must she have to kill herself to save the real Triss and bring back the loving family?

This book is creepy and difficult to understand so I recommend to older readers but yet it is still a very mysterious book to make your brain think .
