Into That Forest

Two girls survive a terrible storm and are left alone to fend for themselves in the Tasmanian bush following the tragic drowning of one of the girls parents.   They take drastic measures by accepting the help of 2 tigers who come to their aid. They name name these Dave and Corinna and the girls evolve into tigers by learning to hunt , walk and  run the same as the Tigers. However, when Becky's father finds them and takes them back to civilisation after several years neither girls find it easy to return to the ways of human life. Becky’s dad is a tiger killer and shoots Dave with a rifle to prevent the girls returning to life as a tigers.

I personally didn’t enjoy this book. I found the story to be unrealistic.  But people interested in dystopian storylines would most likely enjoy this read. I found the narrative repetitive and plot confusing.  In contrary I think the characters were very outgoing and adventurous. This book is suitable for young teens and up due to lots of bad language and violence involved making it unsuitable for children younger than 12.

I found it  difficult to categorise this novel's genre.  There are aspects of mystery and conflict in the story between the tiger hunters and humans.  I would recommend this book  if you’re interested in something different and alternative. To conclude I would give his book a 2 out of 5.
